Refund Policy

Overview

New Breed of Youth, Inc. ("New B.O.Y.") is grateful for every donation we receive. We understand that occasionally donors may need to request a refund. This policy outlines our procedures for handling refund requests.

1. Charitable Donations

1.1 General Policy

As a nonprofit organization, donations made to New Breed of Youth are considered charitable contributions and are generally non-refundable. However, we recognize that errors and extenuating circumstances may occur, and we will review all refund requests on a case-by-case basis.

1.2 Circumstances for Refunds

We may issue a refund for donations in the following circumstances:

• Processing Errors: If a donation was processed incorrectly (e.g., wrong amount, duplicate charge)
• Unauthorized Transactions: If a donation was made without the cardholder's authorization
• Technical Errors: If a technical issue resulted in an unintended donation
• Request Within 24 Hours: If a refund is requested within 24 hours of the donation and the funds have not yet been allocated

1.3 Refund Request Timeline

Refund requests should be submitted as soon as possible after the donation:

• Within 24 hours: Requests are typically approved if funds have not been allocated
• 24 hours to 30 days: Requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis
• After 30 days: Refunds are generally not available, but exceptions may be made for documented fraud or errors

2. Recurring Donations

If you have set up a recurring donation, you may cancel future payments at any time by:

Cancellation requests must be received at least 3 business days before the next scheduled payment to ensure the change takes effect. Past recurring payments are generally non-refundable, though we will consider refund requests for recent payments on a case-by-case basis.

3. Event Registrations

For events with registration fees:

• More than 14 days before event: Full refund available (minus any processing fees)
• 7-14 days before event: 50% refund available
• Less than 7 days before event: No refund available, but registration may be transferred to another person
• Event cancellation by New B.O.Y.: Full refund will be issued, or credit toward a future event

4. Program Fees

For program registration fees (if applicable):

• Before program starts: Full refund available upon request
• Within first week of program: Prorated refund may be available
• After first week: No refund available, but credit may be applied to future programs

5. Merchandise Purchases

For merchandise purchased through our website or at events:

• Unused, unopened items: Full refund within 30 days of purchase with receipt
• Defective items: Full refund or exchange at any time with proof of purchase
• Return shipping: Buyer is responsible for return shipping costs unless item is defective

6. Tax Implications

Please note the following regarding tax implications of refunds:

• If a refund is issued in the same calendar year as the donation, the donation receipt becomes void and should not be used for tax purposes
• If a refund is issued in a different calendar year, you may need to report the refund as income on your tax return
• We recommend consulting with a tax advisor regarding any tax implications

7. How to Request a Refund

• Your name and contact information
• Date of the donation or purchase
• Amount of the donation or purchase
• Reason for the refund request
• Transaction ID or receipt number (if available)

8. Processing Refunds

Once a refund request is approved:

• Refunds will be processed to the original payment method when possible

9. Alternative Options

If a refund is not available, we may offer alternative options:

• Credit toward a future donation or event
• Transfer of event registration to another person
• Designation of the donation to a different program
